Congratulations to las chicas for making it to the semi-finals of the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago. They played a great match yesterday, but failed to beat Korea Republic despite having 66% possession and over 20 shots. The final score was 2-1 for Korea, who will face Japan at the final on September 25.

I am very proud of the girls, and glad to see that women’s football is gradually gaining support in Spain. For my fellow Canadians, our own U-17 women made it to the 16-team World Cup (archrivals USA did not, by the way), but failed to make it past the group stage.
